Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim takes oath as PHC CJ

Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim was sworn in as the Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Saturday.

Governor Ghulam Ali of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) administered the oath to Justice Ibrahim during a ceremony held at the PHC. The event was attended by KP Chief Minister Gandapur, numerous judges, and a large gathering of lawyers.

The Ministry of Law and Justice had announced Justice Ibrahim’s appointment as the Chief Justice of PHC on Thursday, following his previous role as acting chief justice.

Justice Ibrahim initially became an additional judge at PHC on August 11, 2016, and was confirmed in this position on June 1, 2018. His legal career also includes serving as additional advocate general on two occasions and as a special prosecutor general for the National Accountability Bureau. Furthermore, he has held positions as secretary-general and president of the high court bar association.
