Kashmir Week begins at Pakistan’s London embassy

The Pakistan High Commission in London organised a photo exhibition on Thursday in connection with Kashmir Solidarity Day.

The event kick-started the Kashmir Week being observed by the high commission through organising various events to raise awareness about the plight of the Kashmiri people in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

Photos of Kashmiri victims of Indian atrocities were displayed at the premises of the mission. Images depicting human rights violations in IIOJK, as documented by credible international organisations and media outlets, highlighted the brutalities of the occupation forces against innocent Kashmiri people.

Speaking to the media on the occasion, High Commissioner Moazzam Ahmad Khan said the Kashmir Solidarity Day was observed each year not just to express solidarity with the people of IIOJK, but also to underscore the growing urgency to end the humanitarian crisis in the valley.

He said the people of IIOJK were being subjected to the most horrendous violations of fundamental rights by the occupation forces simply for seeking self-determination. Moazzam expressed solidarity with the Kashmiri victims and paid glowing tributes to their resolve and bravery in their struggle for self-determination.

He further said that such events underlined the need to hold India accountable for its crimes against humanity. He reiterated that Pakistan would continue raising its voice for the voiceless people of Kashmir on all platforms.
