Key points about Punjab’s student iPad program

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government in Punjab is gearing up to introduce a scheme aimed at providing iPads and laptops to students across the province.

Reports indicate that the detailed framework for distributing these devices will be finalized within the next three to four weeks, following a directive from Maryam Nawaz, the leader of PML-N, to conduct a student survey for the program.

On March 7, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz chaired a meeting in Lahore to discuss higher education scholarships and the iPad initiative. During the meeting, she stressed the need for a thorough plan for the Punjab Educational Endowment Fund (PEEF).

Highlighting the importance of assessing student usage, she mentioned that decisions regarding the distribution of iPads and laptops would be based on this evaluation. Furthermore, she expressed her commitment to modernizing higher education and other institutions.

The specific launch date for the government’s distribution of iPads and laptops to students will be announced in the coming month.

How to Apply for the Scheme?

Details on the application process for the Punjab iPad and laptop scheme will be provided once the Punjab government unveils a comprehensive plan next month. Students are expected to submit their applications online for consideration.
