‘King of Comedy’ Umer Sharif remembered on birth anniversary

Celebrating the 59th birthday anniversary of the renowned comedian Umer Sharif, whose talent captivated audiences for decades.

Sharif’s illustrious career began at 14 when he performed at a theater, winning prizes like Rs5,000, a motorcycle, and a year’s supply of petrol.

Known for his spontaneous performances, he gained fame in 1980 through audio cassettes and earned the title “King of Comedy” in the 1990s.

His iconic work, “Bakra Qiston Pay,” garnered widespread acclaim in Pakistan and India.

Beyond comedy, Sharif excelled as a director, composer, writer, and producer. His passing in 2021 in Germany left a void in the hearts of many.
