Kohli unhappy with umpire after new full toss review method rules him out

In Sunday’s IPL match against Kolkata Knight Riders, Virat Kohli expressed frustration after being dismissed due to a contentious ruling by the ball tracking technology.

Despite Kohli’s belief that the full toss delivery he faced was above waist height, the technology deemed it legal, leading to his dismissal after a promising start of 18 runs from seven balls.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore captain had attempted to hit Harshit Rana’s high full toss but ended up returning it to the bowler, who caught it.

Following an on-field review, the third umpire concluded that the ball’s projected height at the crease was below Kohli’s waist, resulting in his dismissal.

Despite Kohli’s disagreement with the decision, the game continued.

Faf du Plessis, Kohli’s teammate and Bangalore’s captain, acknowledged the contentious nature of such decisions, recognizing that they can leave one team pleased while the other feels aggrieved.

With six consecutive losses, Bangalore currently occupies the bottom spot in the IPL standings and is set to face Sunrisers Hyderabad on Thursday.
