According to the gazette notification issued by the Punjab government, the minimum salary of the labourers is 25 thousand while the wages of the skilled workers have been fixed under different categories.

The orders were issued to implement from July 1, but these wages have been ignored by the factory owners of Faisalabad, and the wages of the workers were not increased and the workers who were demanding fixed wages were laid off from their jobs. On which the Labour Qaumi Movement protested last day.

The protest demonstration started from Jhang Road Siddhar Bypass, but on the call of the Labour Qaumi Movement, protest rallies were taken out in different sectors of the city. These demonstrations were led by Haji Ashfaq butt, Abuzar Ghaffari, Rana Tahir and other leaders, while thousands of workers participated in these rallies and protests.

Speaking on this occasion, the labour leaders said that the protest of thousands of workers is a matter of moment for the government because the workers are putting their blood and sweat into turning the wheel of the country’s economy, but their labour is not paid in full.

The state of the industry in Faisalabad is already on the brink of collapse and thousands of workers are unemployed and suffering from starvation. But the workers who are working hard in the factories are being sucked by the owners, and the wages fixed by the government are not being paid and the workers are not getting the fixed daily wage- The district administration and the labour department is turning a blind eye instead of giving the workers their rights.

The labour leaders clarified that the workers have always worked hard and earned their wages but now the factory owners are not ready to give the workers even their rights. And the officers of the labour department are also continuously showing silence, but the workers will not remain silent and will continue to protest to get their rights.

He announced that if our demands are not accepted, the city of Faisalabad will be completely shut down and then the entire responsibility of the situation will fall on the district administration and factory owners.
