In the defense area, a friend fatally shot another friend, firing more than a dozen bullets in front of a house. The assailant, Fahad Khan alias Fadi, initially discharged shots from the back of a Vigo car using a repeater and a 9mm pistol. He then dragged the victim out of the car and onto the road before fleeing the scene.
According to details, the incident occurred in front of Defense Phase 5 Khayaban Janbaz Bungalow No. 23 in the Derakhshan area, resulting in one death and one injury. Following initial aid, the injured, identified as Hammam, was transported to the hospital.
Karachi Police spokesperson disclosed that the deceased was 45-year-old Humayun, son of Ali Muhammad Dawood, while the injured was Hammam. The shooting, driven by personal animosity, was perpetrated by the victim’s friend Fahad Khan alias Fadi, outside his residence.
Maulana Yunus, son of the deceased’s religious tutor, highlighted that Fahad, the perpetrator, was a father of two, with a 10-year-old son and a younger daughter. Humayun was also the sole brother of two sisters and managed various businesses, including a motorcycle showroom in Sadar Akbar Market. Additionally, Fahad was revealed to be Humayun’s cousin.
Police reports indicate that prior to the incident, Humayun was socializing with friends near Sea View, where Fahad engaged in a dispute with him. Subsequently, when Fahad followed Humayun home in car number LD-7772, he unleashed gunfire upon him, critically injuring him in the head.
The assailant then dragged Humayun onto the road, amidst the watchmen and guards of nearby bungalows, where he proceeded to fatally shoot him multiple times before fleeing. The victim sustained over 15 gunshot wounds to various parts of his body.
Upon receiving notification, Derakhshan police swiftly responded to the scene, recovering over 15 bullet casings and numerous bullet marks from the victim’s car. Hamam, a friend of the deceased who sustained minor injuries, was taken to the police station to provide his eyewitness account. An investigation has been initiated as the police intensify efforts to apprehend the assailant.
