A man named Khan Mohammad has requested the chiefs of Marri tribe to play their role in recovering his family from the alleged captivity of Balochistan Communication and Buildings Minister Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran.

According to Mohammad, who works as a daily-wage labourer, in search for his missing brother, he started working with Abdul Rehman Khetran as a guard and was arrested in 2014 due to a case against him in relation to his duty. He was released in 2019, and upon his release, he got to know that the minister’s men took away eight members of his family along with things from his house at the chief’s behest and imprisoned them in his private prison in Haji Goth (district Barkhan).

Mohammad named his imprisoned family members as his wife Granaz, daughter Farzana and sons Abdul Ghaffar, Abdul Sattar, Mohammad Imran, Mohammad Nawaz, Abdul Hammed and Abdul Qadir. He alleged that the minister not only made them do hard labour, but tortured them physically and mentally.

Despite untiring efforts to get a way to free his family members, he claimed that he received threats from the chief.

Mohammad worries of the state in which his family members are. He has written letters to the chiefs of Marri tribe, telling them that he could not challenge the power of the minister.

Furthermore, he has requested the area’s notables to play their part in getting his family released from the dungeon.
