Maulana Fazlur Rehman voices concerns and vows resistance against alleged election irregularities

JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman strongly condemned the results of the 2024 elections, alleging widespread rigging and the rise of what he described as “illegitimate authorities” to power.

Addressing a public gathering in Pashin, Maulana Fazlur Rehman accused the establishment of orchestrating a systematic campaign to undermine democracy and manipulate the electoral process.

Expressing his apprehensions, Maulana Fazlur Rehman stated, “The 2024 elections witnessed disgraceful rigging, resulting in the emergence of illegitimate authorities. We refuse to tolerate this attack on democracy and the constitution. If the establishment persists in undermining our democratic principles, we are prepared to resist.”

The JUI chief alleged that money changed hands to secure victories against his party, casting doubt on the integrity of the electoral process.

“Politicians were bribed to defeat the JUI. It must be revealed, how much was paid to influence the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh Assemblies? Illegitimate rulers will not be allowed to govern,” he asserted.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman also expressed concerns about the perceived intentions of the establishment towards madrasas, highlighting their importance in safeguarding Pakistan’s identity.

“The establishment is considering abolishing madrasas, but these institutions are pillars of Islam and have made significant contributions to our society,” he remarked.

Additionally, Maulana Fazlur Rehman expressed gratitude to the people for their support in the election, promising to uphold their trust.

“I thank the people for backing me in the election, and I assure you that I will fulfill the trust you have placed in me,” he affirmed.
