Meta begins testing AI chat bots in social media platforms

Meta, the parent company of popular social media platforms such as WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram has initiated testing of chat bots based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology known as AI in its messaging apps.

The company has confirmed that Meta’s AI named AI is undergoing testing among users in various parts of India and Africa within WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger.

Meta has been working on AI tools since February 2023 and has been conducting various experiments to integrate them into different apps. The development of our Generative AI tools is progressing through various stages and limited testing is being conducted at the public level.

According to Yann LeCun, Meta’s Chief AI Scientist, the availability of ChatGPT has sparked public enthusiasm. It is surprising for us that ChatGPT is not a tool that works in any specific technology or system yet people are showing a lot of interest in it.

It is worth noting that Mark Zuckerberg announced the development of AI chat bots for WhatsApp and Messenger in March 2023.

Meta’s foray into AI chat bots marks a significant step in the integration of AI technology into everyday communication platforms. As the testing progresses, it will be interesting to see how users interact with and adapt to this new form of AI-driven communication.
