Ministry of commerce seeks input from government bodies and private sector for fiscal year 2024-25

The Ministry of Commerce has invited suggestions for the upcoming financial year’s budget from governments, institutions, and the private sector.

In a letter dated February 15, the Ministry requested proposals for the Federal Budget 2024-25 from various government bodies, associations, and chambers.

The Ministry specifically sought recommendations regarding changes in customs tariff rates by the specified deadline.

Entities such as the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Ministry of Industries and Production, National Tariff Commission, Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan, and Engineering Development Board were among those approached for input.

Additionally, the Ministry extended the invitation for suggestions to various chambers, including the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Overseas Investors Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Karachi, Hyderabad, Lahore, Quetta, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisalabad, Multan, Sialkot, Rawalpindi, and Islamabad.

Other organizations like the Pakistan Business Council, American Business Council of Pakistan, Pakistan Small Chambers of Commerce and Cottage Industry, iCap, Pakistan Stock Exchange, All Pakistan Textile Mills Association, and Pakistan Chemicals Manufacturers Association were also requested to provide their recommendations, along with the Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association and other relevant entities.
