Today is the 10th anniversary of the tragic death of Rashid Rehman, a noted social activist and Supreme Court lawyer, murdered by unidentified attackers on May 7, 2014, at his Kachehri Road office in Multan.
The “Shaheed Rashid Rehman Reference” memorial was organized at a local hotel, featuring Asad Iqbal Butt, the Central Chairman of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, as the keynote speaker.
Participants at the seminar paid tribute to Rehman’s unwavering commitment to human rights, acknowledging his dedicated advocacy for the underprivileged in the Saraiki region.
Asad Iqbal Butt, Chairperson of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, commended Rehman as a fearless champion for the downtrodden, highlighting his significant contributions from Mukhtaran Mai’s case to addressing the plight of acid attack victims, all carried out within the confines of the law.
Additional accolades came from local leaders who lauded his work in advancing the rights of women, children, and bonded laborers across Multan and Southern Punjab.
