NADRA introduces home-based CNIC service for disabled people

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has launched a helpline dedicated to facilitating the issuance of computerized national identity cards (CNICs) at people’s residences, with a special focus on improving accessibility for individuals with disabilities, an official announced.

This pioneering initiative aims to tackle the challenges faced by people with disabilities in obtaining essential identity documentation, marking an important milestone in ensuring their full participation in society.

The initiative, as per the official, has simplified the CNIC application process, making it more user-friendly and convenient for individuals with disabilities.

The home-based CNIC issuance service is designed to assist those with disabilities who encounter difficulties in visiting NADRA registration centers due to mobility issues or other physical limitations. NADRA officials will visit their homes to collect required documents, record biometric data, and issue CNICs, ensuring equitable access to this vital identity document for everyone, regardless of physical challenges.

The official emphasized that the Special Helpline 1777 serves as a central support platform for individuals with disabilities, offering comprehensive assistance and guidance on NADRA’s services, including the process for home-based CNIC issuance.
