Naqvi, Chinese envoy dicuss security of foreign nationals, preps for PM’s China visit

During the meeting, discussions revolved around ensuring the security of Chinese citizens in Pakistan and the preparations for Prime Minister Sharif’s upcoming visit to China. Additionally, there was a review of the progress in the investigation of the tragic Bisham incident, which resulted in the loss of Chinese lives.

According to Naqvi, the Bisham incident was an attack on the longstanding friendship between China and Pakistan, and stated that those responsible would face severe consequences. He assured the Chinese ambassador of strict enforcement of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and the development of new measures to safeguard Chinese nationals across Pakistan.

Naqvi also shared that he had met with consul generals from Chinese consulates in Karachi and Lahore, who expressed satisfaction with the security arrangements for Chinese citizens. Asserting Pakistan’s commitment to preserving its strong bond with China, Naqvi stated that any attempts to undermine this friendship would be thwarted.

The meeting was attended by Federal Interior Minister Khurram Agha, senior officials from the Chinese embassy, and relevant officers.
