Nation celebrates Pakistan Day with zeal, fervor

Armed forces exhibit Pakistan’s military capabilities; cultural diversities in parade in Islamabad

The nation is celebrating the 82nd Pakistan Day with patriotic zeal and zest today (March 23), with the joint armed forces holding a parade in the federal capital exhibiting Pakistan’s military proficiency.

Prime Minister Imran Khan, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Naval Chief Admiral Ajmal Khan Niazi, Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Committee General Nadeem Raza, Defence Minister Pervaiz Khattak attended the parade.

The parade was held at Shakarparian Parade Ground and consisted of contingents of the three services, paramilitary forces and civil armed forces. Foreign troops from friendly countries including Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Bahrain also took part in the show.

Addressing the ceremony, President Dr Arif Alvia said that the nation is aware of the cost of sovereignty and independence of Pakistan. He said the country will hold it deal and wants to tell its enemy that it will never compromise on its sovereignty.

The president glorified the heroism and bravery of Pakistan’s armed forces for making the country strong and prosperous. He paid a rich tribute to the countrymen who had sacrificed their lives for the sovereignty of the country.

The parade also featured the fly-past of the freshly inducted J-10c fighter aircraft alongside various formations of the Pakistan Air Force jets.
