The online streaming platform Netflix has secured the digital rights for the South Indian superstar Allu Arjun’s film ‘Pushpa 2’.

Following the tremendous success of ‘Pushpa: The Rise’, Netflix has acquired ‘Pushpa: The Rule’ for a whopping 275 crore marking the largest OTT deal for a Telugu film to date.

Previously, director Sukumar had struck a deal with North India distribution rights holder Anil Thadani for ‘Pushpa 2’ at 200 crore which was itself a record-breaking deal.

It is anticipated that if the film breaks box office records, the deal with Netflix could escalate to ₹300 crore.

It’s worth noting that prior to this, SS Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’ held the record for the highest digital rights sale at 170 crore.

The acquisition of ‘Pushpa 2’ by Netflix underscores the streaming platform’s commitment to providing diverse and high-quality content to its subscribers. With Allu Arjun’s star power and the success of the previous installment, ‘Pushpa: The Rule’ is poised to be a highly anticipated release further cementing Netflix’s position in the digital entertainment landscape.
