Netflix’s Squid Game 2 likely release schedule announced

The highly anticipated second season of Netflix’s Squid Game is expected to debut in the latter half of 2024, according to hints dropped by Netflix Co-CEO Ted Sarandos, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

Although Sarandos refrained from disclosing specific release dates during Netflix’s upcoming presentation, his remarks suggest a release window in the latter part of 2024.

Renewed for a second season in June 2022, Squid Game holds the title of Netflix’s most popular show of all time.

Alongside Squid Game 2, viewers can anticipate the release of The Night Agent, new seasons of Outer Banks, Emily in Paris, and Ryan Murphy’s Monster anthology in 2024.

Following the success of Squid Game, Netflix introduced a reality competition spin-off called ‘Squid Game: The Challenge.’

The 10-part reality series, which debuted in November 2023, featured 456 players competing in games inspired by the original series to win a cash prize of $4.56 million.

Produced by Studio Lambert and filmed in the UK, ‘The Challenge’ faced scrutiny after two unnamed contestants alleged suffering hypothermia and nerve damage during filming.

However, a spokesperson for the show clarified that no lawsuit had been filed by any Squid Game contestants, emphasizing the show’s commitment to contestant welfare.
