New IGP and home secretary appointed in Islamabad

The federal government has made changes to key positions in Islamabad, including the appointment of a new Inspector General of Police (IGP) and Home Secretary.

According to a notification issued by the Establishment Division on Friday, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi has taken over as the new top police officer in the federal capital, replacing Akbar Nasir Khan.

Rizvi, previously serving as DIG Operations in Lahore, assumes his new role following the reshuffle. Meanwhile, the former IGP has been directed to report to the division.

Capt (retd) Khurram Agha, who previously held the position of Commerce Secretary, has been appointed as the new Home Secretary. Additionally, Flt Lt (retd) Khushal Khan, formerly serving as Additional Secretary in the Interior Division, has been reassigned as Additional Secretary for the Power Division.
