No negotiations with terrorists, Law Minister Tarar

Federal Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar reiterated the government’s firm stance on terrorism, stating that there will be no negotiations with terrorists and they will be met with full force in response to their actions.

Speaking during a session of the National Assembly chaired by Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, Minister Tarar responded to remarks made by Umar Ayub, expressing surprise at the notion of teaching law from certain quarters. He highlighted the importance of upholding the rule of law and parliamentary traditions.

Despite interruptions from the opposition, Minister Tarar continued his address, noting the unprecedented absence of the presidential address in the joint session of the House. He criticized the behavior exhibited during the constitutional chief’s address as shameful.

Regarding the recent Noshki attack in Balochistan, Minister Tarar informed the House about the government’s efforts to apprehend the perpetrators, with support from both federal and provincial authorities. He also mentioned ongoing security operations in Kashmore, where federal agencies are assisting the Sindh Police.

Highlighting the longstanding issue of terrorism in Pakistan, Minister Tarar emphasized the government’s zero-tolerance policy towards terrorists. He underscored the sacrifices made by the nation’s youth and reiterated the government’s commitment to combating terrorism without engaging in negotiations.

Minister Tarar called for the the shared responsibility of maintaining law and order between the provinces and the federal government. He reassured that the federal government stands ready to assist wherever needed.

Earlier in the session, newly elected Member of the National Assembly, Sadaf Ehsan, took oath on her designated seat. However, controversy arose regarding her reinstatement, prompting JUI-F to approach the Supreme Court against the decision of the Peshawar High Court. JUI(F) member Noor Alam Khan raised concerns about the legality of Sadaf Ehsan’s membership status in the House.
