Noor Jehan’s daughter reveals: iconic singer left Indian film industry for Pakistan

During a TV show conversation with Nazia Ejaz Khan, daughter of Madam Noor Jehan, host Deepak Parwani disclosed that Noor Jehan left the Indian film industry solely for Pakistan and its people.

She expressed her desire to return to her birthplace, Lahore, and established the Shahnoor studio with her husband, marking a significant contribution to the Pakistani film industry.

Having commenced her career in acting and singing as a child artist in India, Noor Jehan enjoyed immense popularity before the partition.

Renowned for her classical, ghazal, and playback singing, she delivered numerous hit Punjabi and Urdu songs for Pakistani films, earning her the title of “Malka E Tarranum.”

Throughout her career, Madam Noor Jehan received multiple civil awards and was remembered as a devoted mother to her six children: Zil-e-Huma, Hina Durrani, Mina Hasan, Nazia Ejaz Khan, Akbar Hussain Rizvi, and Asghar Hussain Rizvi.
