Opposition leaders extend invitation to JI ameer for anti-government movement

Opposition leaders convened at Mansoora on Saturday, extending an invitation to Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman to join their anti-government movement.

In a post-meeting address to the media, JI ameer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman emphasized the unacceptability of the Form 47 results, asserting that a government based on such outcomes cannot effectively govern. He stressed the necessity of forming a judicial commission to address the issue of rigged elections before any dialogue with the government can occur.

Mahmood Khan Achakzai, chief of Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, echoed Rehman’s sentiments, condemning the general elections for tarnishing Pakistan’s reputation. He pledged to uphold the constitution, warning of nationwide protests should its sanctity be compromised.

PTI leader Asad Qaisar highlighted the prevailing lawlessness in the country, decrying the violation of human rights and the fabrication of false charges against political activists. He vehemently asserted that the government had seized power illegitimately, depriving PTI of its rightful mandate.
