Over 1500 smoky vehicles seized to curb smog spread

Punjab Caretaker Minister for Transport, Ibrahim Murad, announced that over the past two months, more than 1,511 vehicles have been confiscated due to pollution violations.

In a statement made on Tuesday, Minister Murad revealed that action had been taken against 4,682 vehicles that lacked fitness certificates. He emphasized that no exceptions should be made for polluting vehicles, and they must be promptly impounded.

The minister vowed to take extensive measures to combat smog, including the imposition of substantial fines on vehicles contributing to pollution and smog.

He instructed field personnel to be proactive and implement strict measures in this regard. He also urged citizens to recognize their responsibility in resolving vehicle-related smog issues, warning that the government has the authority to seize their vehicles and impose significant fines.

Minister Murad called upon citizens to comply with smog regulations and support the government’s efforts to maintain a safe and clean environment. Additionally, he mentioned the launch of awareness campaigns aimed at combating smog.
