Pakistan has every right to defend itself against terrorism, says Ned Price

United States, State Department spokesman Ned Price has said that Pakistan has every right to defend itself against terrorism.

In response to a question regarding Pakistan’s claims of the Afghan Taliban encouraging the Pakistani Taliban to cause chaos in the country Price said, “We’re aware of the recent statement by the Pakistani National Security Committee.”

Ned Price said during a news conference that the Pakistani people suffered a lot from terrorist attacks.

He further added that Afghanistan should not become a launching pad of terrorism and must ensure that Afghan soil is not used for terrorism.

Ned Price also said that he is closely monitoring the situation in Afghanistan and also deciding on what steps should be taken against the Taliban’s decisions.

The spokesman said that the US is fully committed to the betterment of the Afghan people adding that the Afghan Taliban is not fulfilling its promises.

“NGOs and especially women should be allowed to work in Afghanistan,” said Price.

He further urged that the US and allies should react to the Taliban’s decisions, the G7 and other countries have also expressed their concern regarding it.
