Pakistan slams India’s cross-border assassination campaign

Pakistan has called upon the UN General Assembly and the Security Council to address India’s new tactic of conducting cross-border assassinations.

During a General Assembly discussion on the “Culture of Peace,” Pakistan’s UN Ambassador Munir Akram highlighted India’s targeting of Muslims, Christians, and other minorities within its borders.

He emphasized that India’s extraterritorial state terrorism extended beyond Pakistan, reaching political opponents in Canada, the United States, and potentially other nations.

Ambassador Akram referenced a recent Washington Post report quoting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, affirming India’s aggressive stance.

He noted a surge in hate, oppression, and violence against India’s Muslims, Christians, Dalits, and others since the BJP-RSS government came to power in 2014, fueled by Hindutva ideology.

Warning of wider violence and conflict in South Asia unless Hindutva fascism is opposed and Indian Muslims protected, Ambassador Akram stressed the urgent need to resolve the Kashmir dispute peacefully.

He highlighted global challenges such as hate, violence, and over 300 conflicts worldwide, citing suppression of self-determination rights in Palestine and Jammu and Kashmir.

Pakistan’s efforts to combat Islamophobia were underscored, along with a call for implementing a Plan of Action for protecting religious sites.

Ambassador Akram shared a dossier detailing over 2400 crimes committed by named Indian officials in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, urging swift resolution of the dispute in line with Security Council resolutions and Kashmiri aspirations.

He also highlighted Indian belligerence, with threats to “take over” Azad Kashmir and cross the Line of Control, along with dangerous military doctrines like “Cold Start” and limited war under nuclear overhang.

India’s alleged sponsorship of terrorist groups like the TTP and BLA to disrupt the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor was condemned by Ambassador Akram, emphasizing the need for international attention to these destabilizing actions.
