Pakistan suffers negative impacts from situation in Ukraine: Bilawal

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari during an official visit to Russia on Monday stated that developing nations like Pakistan are suffering from the war in Ukraine “in terms of its economic impact.”

Speaking at a press conference in Moscow with the Russian minister of foreign affairs Sergey Lavrov, he asserted that “diplomacy can be used to resolve any major issue, including the war in Ukraine.”

“The Russian state and Ukraine’s strong diplomacy will assist in reaching a peaceful solution,” he added.

According to him, Pakistan views Russia as a significant player in West, South, and Central Asia.

He claims that he spoke with his Russian colleague about all facets of their bilateral relationships as well as local issues.

“About Afghanistan, both sides cooperate well. To guide peace and stability in Afghanistan, we will strengthen our collaboration,” he added.

He said, “We will maintain high-level engagement with the Russian Federation.”

The relationship between Pakistan and Russia, he continued, “we feel, not only serves our national interests but also contributes to regional, global peace and security.”

He expressed gratitude to Lavrov for his invitation to visit Russia and reaffirmed Islamabad’s commitment to strengthening ties with Moscow.

Bilawal arrived in Russia on Sunday for a two-day official visit. Senior representatives of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the ambassador of Pakistan to Russia, and embassy staff members welcomed the minister.
