President Dr. Arif Alvi reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the cause of Palestine on Tuesday in its fight against Israeli troops’ brutality and illegal occupation.

The President of Pakistan in his message for the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People stated that “Pakistan has always backed the legitimate struggle of Palestinians and shall continue to do so.”

President Alvi expressed hope that justice and fairness would triumph over tyranny and persecution and said that collective voice and action might bring peace and security to the Palestinian people.

He hoped that universal conscience would prevail over constrained self-interest.

He emphasized that Pakistan completely supported the Palestinian’s stance and their willingness to discuss a peace deal based on terms of reference that were accepted globally.

He argued that the agreement needed to be implemented with East Jerusalem serving as the State of Palestine’s capital, with international oversight holding the parties responsible and within a set, legally binding timeline.

The persecution of Palestinians by Israelis over the past 75 years has been systematic and getting worse, according to President Alvi.

The president claimed that the most recent incident of Israel’s unrelenting violence occurred in August of this year when the bombing of Gaza left more than 300 Palestinians injured and nearly 50 Palestinians dead, including 17 children.

He declared that the occupation and annexation of the Palestinian territory would continue to violate international law and international humanitarian law “regardless of what steps Israel takes to do so.”

Dr. Alvi claimed that while the invading force may seize control of the surrounding area, it was unable to seize control of the occupied population’s spirits and minds.

“Pakistan will support the Palestinians in their quest for freedom until they have the opportunity to exercise their right to self-determination,” he said.
