Pakistan-Sweden have trade and investment potential, says Ishaq Dar

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar welcomed Ambassador Georg Steiner of Switzerland for a courtesy meeting, emphasizing Pakistan’s keen interest in strengthening bilateral ties with Switzerland.

Highlighting the potential for enhanced cooperation between the two nations, particularly in areas such as trade, investment, climate, tourism, and migration, he underscored the significance of existing collaborations and encouraged further engagement.

Acknowledging the positive contribution of Swiss companies operating in Pakistan, he extended invitations for increased investment, especially in sectors like renewable energy and IT.

He also referenced the Memorandum of Understanding on Disaster Management signed between the two countries, expressing optimism about its role in facilitating joint efforts to address natural disasters through technology and expertise sharing.

Discussions encompassed regional dynamics and multilateral concerns, with appreciation extended towards Switzerland’s constructive role in humanitarian and peace-building endeavors on the global stage.

The enduring relationship between Pakistan and Switzerland, characterized by regular exchanges, was underscored, noting previous visits and bilateral consultations aimed at strengthening mutual understanding.
