‘Pakistan to announce new coaches by end of April’

In Lahore, Pakistan, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is set to unveil a new roster of coaches for both red and white ball formats for the national team by the month’s end, as per an official statement to the Press Trust of India news agency.

The PCB has confirmed receiving applications from notable coaches, including Gary Kirsten from South Africa and Jason Gillispie from Australia, alongside others.

The board emphasizes a thorough selection process, indicating that while Kirsten and Gillispie are under consideration, new applicants are also being assessed.

Unlike previous appointments, which often occurred on interim or consultancy terms, the PCB aims for a more structured approach this time.

Interviews will be conducted for all candidates, including Kirsten and Gillispie, who were encouraged to apply formally by the deadline.

The PCB plans to maintain confidentiality regarding candidates until the official announcement is made at the month’s end.

Additionally, the deadline for assistant coach applications is set for April 20, with even current interim coach Azhar Mahmood expected to apply formally for the position.
