Pakistan to shuffle batting order further after stunning loss to New Zealand

Pakistan’s batting order remains unsettled as the T20 World Cup approaches, with head coach Azhar Mahmood indicating further changes are likely.

Azhar, currently serving as head coach for the ongoing T20 series against New Zealand, acknowledged the instability after Pakistan’s defeat in the third T20 match.

Despite a strong start by Pakistan, New Zealand’s Mark Chapman’s aggressive innings led to a series tie.

Pakistan’s total of 178 runs, though respectable, was deemed insufficient as New Zealand chased it down with ease, largely due to Chapman’s explosive 87 off 42 balls.

While Pakistan’s openers provided a solid start, the scoring rate slowed during the middle overs, with Mohammad Rizwan and Usman Khan struggling to accelerate the run rate.

Azhar hinted at possible changes in the batting lineup for the upcoming matches and the World Cup.

Azhar emphasized the need for flexibility in batting positions based on matchups and player performance, acknowledging Rizwan’s strike rate and Usman’s struggles in an unfamiliar position.

Azhar credited Chapman for his exceptional batting display and stressed the importance of learning from such experiences to improve performance in future matches.
