In the social media world, Saboor Akram has been captivating Instagram users worldwide with his extraordinary creations. Saboor Akram, a 20-year-old photographer is from Quetta and raised in Lahore, Pakistan. His artistry has taken a unique twist as he delves into the world of AI-generated images.
Saboor’s passion for photography began back in seventh grade, and he has been enhancing his skills ever since. Alongside his love for films and storyboarding, he began experimenting with AI tools to bring his imagination to life with meticulous attention to detail in terms of lighting, production, fashion, and art direction.
“What sets my work apart is the combination of AI-generated images with color grading and Photoshop. It allows me to create stunning visual representations of my concepts,” Saboor shares.
Inspiration for his creations comes from his deep love for comic books, particularly Spider-Man. He even produced the first self-funded Spider-Man fan fiction in Pakistan when he was 19, revealing his desire to represent his country on a global scale.
Recently, Saboor encountered a turning point when he met an experienced German photographer in Turkey. They discussed how AI, like many technological advancements before it, was perceived as a threat to traditional artistry. However, Saboor saw it as an opportunity to evolve and enhance his craft.
In the pursuit of refining his skills, Saboor invested in the AI program called Midjourney during his recovery from a serious surgery. On bed rest, he delved into mastering Photoshop manipulation, color theory, Procreate, and Adobe Illustrator to shape his ideas into artistic masterpieces.
But what drives Saboor to create AI artwork? He explains, “I want to represent different franchises, concepts, movies, and celebrities through the lens of my country and culture, creating a unique representation that resonates with the world.”
His innovative approach has led to conceptual posters that reimagine popular movies and shows like Stranger Things, Spider-Man, and Harry Potter in a Pakistani context, showcasing his versatility as a visionary artist.
Saboor’s dream is to introduce a Pakistani Spider-Man to the world. His creative ideas and representations have received widespread love and admiration on social media.
