The Passing Out parade of cadets from the 149th Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Long Course, 14th Mujahid Course, 68th Integrated Course, and 23rd Lady Cadet Course took place at PMA Kakul on Saturday. Among the graduates were 49 cadets from friendly nations.
General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, NI (M), Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, with General Metin Gürak, Chief of the Turkish General Staff, serving as the Guest of Honor.
During the event, the CJCSC reviewed the parade and delivered an address. He, along with the Turkish Chief of General Staff, presented awards to outstanding cadets.
The prestigious Sword of Honor was bestowed upon Academy Senior Under Officer Muhammad Nauman Abdullah, while the President’s Gold Medal was awarded to Company Senior Under Officer Muhammad Abdullah Javed from the 149th PMA Long Course.
The CJCSC Overseas Gold Medal was presented to Friendly Country Senior Under Officer Fahad Bin Aqil Al Towarqi Al Fallaj from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Additionally, the COAS Cane was awarded to Course Under Officer Ilyas Khan of the 14th Mujahid Course, and the Commandant’s Canes were given to Course Junior Under Officer Danish Sattar of the 68th Integrated Course and Course Under Officer Sher Bano of the 23rd Lady Cadet Course.
The Chairman JCSC extended congratulations to the passing out cadets and their families on the successful completion of their training at PMA.
General Sahir Shamshad Mirza remarked, “Since its inception, PMA has remained the cradle of leadership and center of excellence for cadets joining the premier institution of the Army.” He said that PMA has trained numerous foreign cadets, whose achievements in their respective armies highlight the professional standards instilled by PMA.
He concluded by stating that the parade exemplifies military discipline and reflects the high standards of the Academy and the Pakistan Army.
