PDM running away from elections, playing flood politics, says Sheikh Rashid

Awami Muslim League (AML) Chief and former interior minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has said that the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) was running away from the election and only playing flood politics.

Talking to the media while appearing at a court in Islamabad on Friday, Sheikh Rashid said that politics of someone could not be ended by disqualifying him.

He said that jail was his in-laws as he has spent seven years in jail.

He further criticised the increase in load shedding.

Earlier, Sheikh Rashid appeared in the court of Additional Sessions Judge Zafar Iqbal in the case of violation of Section 144 in Islamabad.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Murad Saeed could not appear as the roads were closed due to floods.

Former interior minister also said that every week, one has to come to the court for some reason. He said that the government was doing nothing but toying with politics related to floods.

The court extended the bail of both till September 27.
