PM Shehbaz condemns nursery shooting in Thailand

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the shooting at a nursery in Thailand and also expressed his deepest sympathies to the bereaved parents and people of Thailand.

On Friday, the PM tweeted, “It could not get more gruesome than this, and we are deeply shocked & hurt to learn about the killing of 3 dozen people including 23 children & infants in Thailand.”

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto also offered condolences on the shooting incident.

A former police officer opened fire at a childcare center on October 6, primarily shooting children in one of Thailand’s bloodiest mass killings.

According to the authorities, the attacker Panya Khamrab killed his wife and child at home after the shooting before killing himself.

Panya entered the childcare facility in the northern Nong Bua Lam Phu province at around 12:30 p.m. armed with a shotgun, revolver, and knife.

According to Police Colonel Jakkapat Vijitraithaya of the province where the attack took place, the shooter shot a large number of persons, especially youngsters.

The nursery’s interim chief, Nanthicha Punchum, described terrifying scenes as the attacker stormed inside.
