PM Shehbaz once again calls Imran Khan ‘mastermind’ behind May 9 incident

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that the May 9 events attempted to destabilize the Pakistani military, with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan as the mastermind.

The arrest of the PTI head in a case of corruption sparked violent protests, with followers of his party ransacking public and military assets.

The premier stated that the events of May 9, called “Black Day” by the military, included men, women, a cabal, some military men, and their families.

“Those involved in the May 9 incidents were intent on toppling the military leadership,” the prime minister stated in an interview with a local media channel which will be aired on Sunday night.

Prime Minister Shehbaz stated that the planners desired “anarchy” and “war” in the country.

The PTI asserts that its members were not involved in the attacks, while the government and military deny this and claim to have “irrefutable evidence” of their participation.

The army also resolved to hold military courts for those who attacked military installations, including the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi and the Lahore Corps Commander House.

The Supreme Court, on the other hand, anticipates that civilians will not be tried in military courts until it rules on the petitions opposing the trials.
