The two-day conference will be held in Kazakhstan’s capital, Astana.

The premier tweeted prior to his departure and said that he will be leaving for Kazakhstan to attend the 6th summit of CICA. He had further stated, “I believe CICA is capable of shaping a new configuration of economic cooperation and security in Asia through greater connectivity.”

PM Shehbaz also tweeted that there has been a greater need to promote engagement and understanding to form win-win partnerships as the world was facing the prospect of recession fuelled by the increase in the prices of energy and food.

During his participation, PM Shehbaz will address the plenary meeting tomorrow. According to the statement of the Foreign Office, PM Shehbaz would highlight the perspective of Pakistan on regional and global issues.

The premier will also meet various CICA member states’ leaders for greater cooperation, especially in the fields of investment, trade and energy.
