Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was anticipated to propose Nawaz Sharif, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader, as the party president during crucial meetings scheduled for next Saturday (May 11).
Sources revealed that both the party’s central executive committee and core committee meetings were set for May 11, with invitations already dispatched.
It’s been indicated by sources that apart from the party president position, no decisions have been made regarding changes to other organizational posts.
Former interior minister Rana Sanaullah recently disclosed that he personally urged Nawaz Sharif to resume his role as party president.
Additionally, PML-N senior leader Khawaja Saad Rafique emphasized the widespread desire for Nawaz Sharif to lead the party, stating that there are no constitutional impediments preventing him from assuming the presidency.
Rafique noted that Sharif has been formally asked to take on the role.
