PML-N candidate Aslam Buledi injured in shooting incident ahead of Pakistan’s general elections

Aslam Buledi, a former senator and PML-N candidate for NA-258 in the upcoming general elections, sustained injuries in a shooting incident in Turbat, Balochistan, on Wednesday, according to police.

Kech Superintendent of Police Zia Mandokhail confirmed the attack, stating that unknown individuals fired at Buledi while he was walking in a park, causing injuries to his shoulder and foot.

Buledi has been transferred to the District Headquarters Hospital Turbat.

Caretaker Balochistan Chief Minister Ali Mardan Domki strongly condemned the incident, demanding a report from the interior department.

Domki pledged to use all resources to apprehend the attackers and instructed heightened security for electoral candidates in the province.

This incident occurs amid increased terrorist activities, particularly in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as Pakistan prepares for the elections on February 8.

Last week, former MNA Mohsin Dawar survived an armed attack on his convoy in North Waziristan, while JUI-F’s Qari Khairullah narrowly escaped a roadside bomb in Bajaur.

The interior ministry had previously received reports of serious threats to the lives of JUI-F chief Fazlur Rehman and ANP provincial president Aimal Wali Khan.
