PML-N dynamics unfold as Talal Chaudhry joins NA-99 campaign

Former PML-N minister Talal Chaudhry has decided to actively engage in the election campaign for the party candidate, Malik Nawab Sher Waseer, in NA-99. This development comes after a meeting facilitated by senior PML-N leaders from Faisalabad aimed at resolving internal conflicts. Talal, who had initially applied for a ticket from the same constituency, chose to distance himself from the party’s election drive when Waseer was awarded the ticket. During this time, he directed his efforts towards supporting Sardar Khan Bahadur and Ashraf Chaudhry, PML-N candidates for PP-100 and PP-101, respectively, operating under the same NA seat.

Simultaneously, former Toba district council chairperson Fauzia Warraich, running as an independent candidate in PP-120 Gojra, affirmed her commitment to the PML-N cause. She asserted that upon winning the election, she would rejoin the party. Fauzia, the wife of former MNA Khalid Javed Warraich, and mother of Uqba Ali Warraich, PML-N candidates for NA-105 and PP-119 respectively, emphasized her unwavering loyalty to the party.

Addressing a gathering in her constituency, Fauzia explained the unique circumstances in PP-120. The party had awarded a ticket to Abdul Qadeer Awan under specific criteria, stipulating that the ticket was reserved for the applicant who had been an MNA or MPA in the last election. Fauzia highlighted that in the 2018 election, Khalid Warraich had not only secured victory in NA-105 and PP-119 but also played a crucial role in Qadeer Awan’s success in PP-120. Alleging Awan’s lack of developmental efforts in the constituency, Fauzia asserted that PML-N supporters encouraged her to contest in the belief that Awan could be defeated.

Contrarily, Awan countered these claims, consforecutive victories in 2013 and 2018 with substantial margins.
