Poll items dispatched to polling stations in Thatta and Sujawal districts

Thatta/Sujawal: Election staff started reaching the office of the District Returning Officer to collect necessary materials required at the polling stations on the election day.

Out of 450 polling stations, 31 polling stations in Thatta district have been declared sensitive. However, the situation has turned tense in Thatta district.

While the spokesperson for the District Election Commissioner in Thatta said that things were well under control and chief monitoring officers have been tasked to evaluate security measures at all polling stations in the district, incidents of mismanagement were reported from the DRO office in Sujawal during the process of distributing poll items.

Three female teachers appointed as presiding officers withdrew, citing different reasons, while the staff of the DRO office was struggling to overcome challenges.

The weather, however, is expected to remain pleasant on the polling day in both districts.

A directive has been issued by the District Information Department urging media personnel to avoid fake and unverified news.

Reporters were advised to contact the concerned focal person to seek actual facts and figures regarding election results.

However, PPP seems to dominate polls in the southernmost districts of the province.
