Filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy revealed that her latest documentary, “Diane von Furstenberg: Woman in Charge,” will debut at the Tribeca Film Festival in June before heading to Hulu.
The film, co-directed by Obaid-Chinoy and Trish Dalton, will premiere on June 5 as the festival’s opening night selection, offering an in-depth look into Diane von Furstenberg’s five-decade-long career.
Last year, Obaid-Chinoy and Diane discussed women’s empowerment at the World Economic Forum.
Additionally, Obaid-Chinoy has been confirmed as the director for the upcoming Star Wars film set to release in 2026, marking her as the first woman and person of color to lead such a project.
Diane von Furstenberg, a Belgian fashion designer, is best known as the founder and co-chairwoman of Diane Von Furstenberg Studio, with her flagship store located in New York City’s Meatpacking District.
