President Zardari greenlights new provincial governors in Pakistan

President Asif Ali Zardari has officially approved the selection of new governors for Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), and Balochistan provinces in Pakistan.

Faisal Karim Kundi from the PPP will serve as KP governor, Salim Haider Khan as Punjab governor, and Jafar Khan Mandokhel as Balochistan governor.

The appointments were made via a presidential decree in line with the Constitution.

Kundi, a former deputy speaker of the National Assembly, will be sworn in tonight as the KP governor.

The decision was made after consultations between PPP leaders, including Bilawal Bhutto and Prime Minister Shehbaz.

These appointments are significant given the current challenges facing each province, and the new governors will be instrumental in addressing them and promoting development.
