London’s High Court recently made a crucial decision in Prince Harry’s privacy case, sidestepping a potential setback.
The court rejected an application from the publisher of British tabloids, owned by Rupert Murdoch, which could have caused a significant delay in proceedings.
This application aimed to obtain a ruling on whether certain lawsuits had been initiated outside the legal time limit.
By dismissing this request, the court ensured that the cases, involving a total of 42 individuals, including Prince Harry, will proceed as planned.
These legal actions are against News Group Newspapers (NGN), the publisher of The Sun and the now-defunct News of the World, alleging various forms of misconduct and invasion of privacy.
Despite NGN’s history of settling phone-hacking cases and denying wrongdoing, the court’s decision maintains the momentum for the upcoming trial, scheduled to commence in January.
