PTI-backed MPA-elect Nadia Khar remains loyal to PTI

MUZAFFARGARH: MPA-elect from PP-277 Nadia Farooq Khar has said that despite pressure on her to join the PML-N and quit, she will not leave the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) at any cost.

Ms Khar, the first timer, defeated four former MPAs who were in the competition. She said she was elected because of her leader Imran Khan and her father, Malik Farooq Khar’s services for the area.

She said she did not know if MNA-elect Fayyaz Chajra, who was also elected as a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf independent candidate from NA-180 would join anyother party or not. She said he should not do so, otherwise his politics would be ended.

Earlier, PTI MNA-elect from Lahore’s NA-121 Waseem Qadir has joined Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
“I have come back to where I belong,” Qadir said in a video shared on PML-N’s X handle on Sunday. He was standing alongside PML-N Senior Vice President and chief organiser Maryam Nawaz.

Interestingly, PML-N had initially described Qadir as a PTI-backed candidate.
The party soon deleted the tweet, and posted it again, with the new caption referring to him as an independent candidate.

The development comes as wheeling and dealing kicked off to acquire the required number of 134 to form the new government in the Centre.
