PTI demands immediate removal of IG Punjab Police

Attempts were made to turn incident into religious tragedy, there was more than one shooter, claims Fawad

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has demanded the immediate removal of the Inspector General (IG) of Police Punjab after showing dissatisfaction over the police behaviour.

PTI senior leader and former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry has said that PTI’s advisory meeting was held at Shaukat Khanum Hospital under chairman Imran Khan. He said that the decision regarding the long march continuation has been taken and will be announced later.

Fawad speaking in a press conference said that the meeting of senior PTI leadership was held in which doctors had briefed the participants on the party chairman Imran Khan’s medical condition.

He said that attempts have been made to turn the heinous incident into a religious tragedy. He further added that as per initial reports there was more than one armed attacker.

He also told that PTI Chairman Imran Khan will address the nation (today) and will take the people into confidence. He said that Imran Khan will announce further strategies.

According to Fawad Chaudhry, Imran Khan will talk in detail about the attack on him.

Earlier, Imran Khan had called a meeting of the senior party leadership over the tragic incident of yesterday that took the life of one PTI supporter while 13 including Imran and senior PTI leaders were injured.

According to media reports, PTI Chairman Imran Khan received four injuries in his legs as a result of the incident.
