PTI to take legal action against Maryam Nawaz for accusing Imran Khan of blasphemy

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) said it will file a lawsuit against Maryam Nawaz’s “controversial” social media campaign accusing PTI Chairman Imran Khan of blasphemy that may put his life at risk.

On Monday, Maryam Nawaz posted two fake quotes on her Twitter account from Imran Khan and a similar number of verses from the Quran in an effort to contrast them.

She added a tweet to the conversation in which she stated: “This man (Imran) is using religion for his politics and promoting his false narrative. Save your faith and the country from this Satan.”

PTI senior leader Fawad Chaudhry while talking to local media said that this issue won’t go unnoticed by us. Maryam Nawaz would face legal consequences for putting the PTI chairman’s life in danger by exploiting the blasphemy law.

He further said that the coalition administration is the only one that openly employs blasphemy laws against political rivals.

Fawad claimed that Maryam Nawaz and Fazl-ur-Rehman are building this web to physically eliminate Imran Khan, which is the most severe attempt to physically eliminate political opponents.
