PTI’s central stage, venue shifted to 6th road flyover

District administration’s proposed venue was accepted after consultation with PTI’s central leadership

The venue of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) rally in Rawalpindi has been changed.

Due to the sensitive building in Shamasabad, the main stage of the PTI rally will now be set near the Sixth Road flyover.

Rawalpindi administration had proposed to construct the main stage near the sixth road flyover which was accepted by PTI after consultation with the central leadership.

A tent settlement has also been set up in Rawalpindi’s Allama Iqbal Park.

A heavy contingent of police and Frontier Constabulary (FC) has been deployed at the Faizabad interchange while the federal government has continued to close the entry and exit points of Islamabad with containers.

Secretary General PTI Asad Umar reviewed the arrangements for the rally and the tent settlement in the park. 12 tents have been set up at one place where 50,000 people can stay. A separate tent has been set up for women while 100 washrooms have been set up temporarily.

Earlier today PTI was stopped twice by the police for setting up a stage near Faizabad. The district administration had allowed the party to set up the stage but later police again barred from preparations at the venue.

PTI was given the alternate choice of sixth road flyover and that has been accepted by the party.
