In her detailed remarks, the Provincial Information Minister stated a global norm wherein heads of state and prominent figures enhance the esteem and regard of their respective forces by donning their uniforms. She pointed out that Maryam Nawaz’s actions were within this global precedent. Furthermore, she highlighted the irony of the criticism coming from a faction led by an individual who refuses to acknowledge even his own daughter.
Azma Bokhari acknowledged the historical context by reminding that Nawaz Sharif, during his tenure as a leader, also adhered to this tradition, thus Maryam Nawaz’s actions were in line with a legacy established within their political realm. She defended Maryam’s actions as a continuation of this tradition, dismissing the need for excessive outrage and condemnation, particularly directed at the Chief Minister of Punjab.
