Punjab is being taken out of the dark period, says CM Maryam

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressed on Friday that Punjab is moving away from a dark period and progressing towards development.

During her speech at the inauguration of the ‘Clinics on Wheels’ project, she highlighted, “This initiative is set to revolutionize the healthcare sector, aiming to enhance accessibility for the people. These mobile clinics will provide essential medical services, with plans for 200 units to be deployed at various locations.”

She mentioned that among these, 50 units will offer ultrasound services along with general medical, testing, and maternity facilities. Approximately four million individuals are expected to benefit from this endeavor.

Maryam Nawaz said that these mobile clinics will be stationed in areas where hospitals are distant, offering screening and vaccination services. Priority will be given to local doctors across 36 districts. This project, she believes, will significantly transform the healthcare landscape.

Furthermore, she noted that this project, initiated by Shehbaz Sharif, was discontinued in the previous administration. She stressed the importance of reviving and realigning projects from both Shehbaz Sharif and Nawaz Sharif’s administrations, addressing shortages in nursing and paramedical staff, and ensuring healthcare reaches the doorsteps of citizens.

“We are introducing advanced cardiology services in eight districts of Punjab, ushering Punjab into an era of development,” Maryam added.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Provincial Health Ministers Khawaja Salman Rafique, Khawaja Imran Nazir, Health Secretary Ali Jan Khan, and other dignitaries.
