Governor Punjab Muhammad Balighur Rehman said no country in the world can attain prosperity and development without quality education and to make Pakistan a progress country we should focus on developing the best educational institutions.
Addressing a ceremony held in regard of 162nd foundation day of Lawrence College Murree here on Thursday, the Governor Punjab said Lawrence College is one of the best educational institutions in the country and its graduates have proved their mettle in different fields. Principal Lawrence College Murree Mujahid Alam, teachers, students and a large number of their parents were also present on the occasion.
Balighur Rehman character building of students is the primary responsibility of any educational institution. He said that co-curricular activities are also important for the students along with the studies for the overall development of their personalities.
Governor Punjab Muhammad Balighur Rehman said that Lawrence College has a long and illustrious history and it is the honor of the institution that it has always maintained its bright traditions and at the same time has adapted itself to modern educational requirements. He said that the students who got the opportunity to benefit from this educational institution are lucky and the students who graduated from this great educational institution have always made the country and the nation proud. He said that students can achieve success only through hard work, dedication and research.
On this occasion, the students presented tableaus and participated in various sports. Later, Governor Punjab Muhammad Balighur Rehman gave shields to the students who secured prominent positions.
Moreover, Punjab Governor Muhammad Balighur Rehman said in his message on World Day for Awareness for food loss and wastage that millions of people in the world are suffering from hunger and malnutrition. He said that the issue of hunger and malnutrition in different parts of the world can be solved by preventing food waste.
Governor Punjab said that there is special focus in our religion to prevent wastage of food. He said that today there is a need to create awareness among the public to prevent food wastage. He further said to stop wastage of food in homes, hotels and on wedding occasions so that this food reaches the deserving people instead of going to the waste bins.
