Rain expected across Punjab starting April 26

From April 26 onwards, Lahore and parts of Punjab are expected to experience rain, accompanied by wind, thunderstorms, and occasional hailstorms, with brief breaks in between.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasts the arrival of a westerly wave in western Pakistan on the night of April 24, likely extending its influence over most upper regions by April 26.

This weather system is anticipated to bring rain, wind, and thunderstorms, with some areas experiencing moderate to heavy rainfall. Regions including Murree, Galyat, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, and many others are expected to be affected from April 26 to April 29.

Additionally, areas like Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, and Bahawalpur may also witness rain and thunderstorms from April 26 to April 28, with the possibility of isolated hailstorms.

The potential impacts of this weather include landslides in hilly areas like Murree and Galyat, as well as risks to human life, crops, and structures such as electric poles and solar panels due to windstorms, hailstorms, and lightning.

Farmers are advised to take necessary precautions for their crops, and tourists are urged to avoid unnecessary travel, especially between April 26 and April 29. Moreover, a decrease in temperatures is expected during this wet spell.
